How To Use This Handbook:
Don’t Just Read –
DO – AND KEEP ON DOING

I'm so happy that you made the decision to purchase this handbook!  It's proof of your desire to change your life, as well as proof of your desire to learn (and, the desire to learn is always a cause for celebration!).  However, knowledge is worthless unless you put it into action.  That’s why WISDOM is so valuable.  But you can’t gain wisdom, or understanding for that matter, unless you put knowledge into action.  Putting knowledge into action factors prominently in your ability to succeed in anything you set out to accomplish.

Simply stated, you will not accomplish anything you want to do unless you DO something.

If you read this ebook, but don’t put into practice anything you’ve learned, it’s the same as never having read it at all.  You really can conduct a successful home job search, and earn a good income from the comfort of your home -- whether as a telecommuter, freelancer, or home-based independent contractor.  But, get it out of your head that you can find legitimate home-based work without doing anything.

One of the internet's greatest myths is that one can easily find and get hired in a legitimate work at home job.  Everywhere you turn, work at home Web sites, job boards, and career sites boast of giving you access to tens of thousands of jobs as though all you had to do was arrive on their site, pick one, and live (or rather, work) happily ever after.

The fact is, the demand for home-based jobs -- and especially those that focus primarily on the use of such administrative or clerical skills as typing, data entry, word processing, and desktop publishing -- makes them virtually impossible to find.  With more than 80% of job seekers clamoring for the few home-based jobs that are actually advertised, it can seem as though you were searching for the proverbial "needle in the haystack."

The good news is that real, legitimate home-based jobs do exist, and you can find the one that's perfect for you, but your success in locating and landing it rests on your commitment to following a job search method proven to work.  In other words, you have to DO something.

If you're willing to take the time to --

  • educate yourself about the kinds of work at home scams and deceptions you'll encounter so that you can avoid them,

  • assess your current skills, interests, motivations, and work preferences to determine where you are, and where you're trying to go,

  • define your ideal job or the perfect work that you desire to do, so that you'll spend your time, efforts, and money working with purpose towards a definite goal,

  • add to and/or polish your current skills, or learn a whole new set of skills (if need be), so that you'll be prepared to take advantage of all of the opportunities that will come your way,

  • learn how to present yourself confidently, professionally, and in a way sets you apart from others competing for the same jobs or projects, so that you are rewarded with the kind of work you're hoping for, and

  • remain focused, committed, and patiently persevere no matter what obstacles you encounter on your path,

YOU WILL REACH YOUR GOAL

Finding and getting hired in a job that will allow you to work from home is no different from conducting a successful job search for a "regular" job performed outside of the home.  The plain and simple truth is, it takes knowledge, understanding, wisdom, work, skill, patience, perseverance, commitment, a burning desire, faith, and time to locate and land a home-based work.  Above all, you'll need to have a willingness to listen, learn, and take action.

The internet holds no special magic.  It is simply a tool to be used just as you would use newspaper classifieds or any other resources to locate and get hired in a "regular" job (and, you should still use these resources in your home job search too).

Acknowledge it, accept it, and you'll start moving ahead on your path to success.  Continue to choose to believe in the myth, and you'll continue to run in place, from one "get-rich-quick" scheme to the next.  You'll spend lots of money, and have nothing to show for it except anger, disappointment, frustration, and empty pockets.

Believe me, I know, because I wasted months (and lots of money) chasing after that "internet" myth too.  Although I was fortunate to find home-based work soon after being laid off, the promise of easy riches was still very tempting, and I, like many of you, ignored my common sense when it came such claims.  Sinking deeper into debt, and moving in the opposite direction of the real success I thought I could "quickly" achieve, I had no one to blame but myself.

But, by the grace of God (and, with His help), I snapped out of it, acknowledged and accepted the truth, and now, I'm a successful home-based worker and Netpreneur.

That one can earn a significant income on the internet with little or no work, is another great myth of the internet.

Everywhere you turn, you see ads and Web sites telling you that you can easily put up a Web site (or buy one), go to bed, and you'll make millions while you sleep.  Or, you're told that all you'll have to do is type ads all over the place, and you'll "easily" earn hundreds of dollars a week.

This is simply not true, and if you think about it, you'll realize how ridiculous these claims are.  If it really were that easy, don't you think we'd all be millionaires?

When it comes to locating and landing a home-based job, knowledge, patience, and flexibility will be your greatest allies.

For example, unless you are already working in a "regular" full time job and are able to convince your boss to allow you to telecommute, you should consider learning about and pursuing some of the other options available to you for legitimately earning a living at home.

When it comes to earning a living at home, some people telecommute, while others freelance or operate their own home-based business.  And, many make money by performing work in any combination of these work-at-home categories.

An inflexible mindset -- one that is absolutely set on earning an income only through being hired in a full-time home-based job -- will unnecessarily prohibit you from spotting and taking advantage of other available, legitimate opportunities to make money while you search.  Be flexible.  Be willing to learn all that you can not only about the telecommuting industry, but pursue learning about other flexible work options such as job sharing, freelancing, temping, or working as an independent contractor.

It will also help if you are flexible when it comes to salary.  Be willing to apply for and accept a telecommute job or other legitimate home-based work, that pays less than you would make if you were actually reporting to the "office" every day.  By doing so, you'll increase your chances of more quickly finding real home-based work.

If you're tempted to be inflexible in this area, consider this -- you really don't need the same salary as someone who commutes every day, because working at home cuts out a lot of the expenses associated with commuting and working in an office.  You'll be saving on clothing, child care, food, and transportation expenses, so  you could accept a job paying half the salary of that paid to a commuter, and still come out on top!

Finally, it's important that you don’t try to measure your results by what others have achieved.  It’s foolish to do so, because there are so many variables of which you are unaware, that may have contributed to their ability to quickly find legitimate home-based work.

For one thing, they may have already been skilled in how to conduct a successful job search (that's one reason why I was able to find work so quickly).  They may have been in the right place at the right time, and recognized and were prepared to capitalize on an opportunity that was never advertised.  In other words, they found quick success by looking for and discovering an opportunity in the "hidden job market." (Again, this is what I did.)  You simply don't know the whole story.

The good news is, by reading this ebook AND applying what you learn, you, too, will be successful in locating and landing the legitimate home-based work you're hoping for.

So, set your own goals, focus on what you are trying to achieve, remain flexible, follow the proven steps that have been presented in this ebook, and don’t measure your ability to get there against what someone else has done.

Your success awaits you -- GO GET IT!
